Born in Brooklet, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John Lane Sheffield and Sallie Spires Sheffield. Whether you called her Mom, Carnegia, "Me-Maw", or "Grandma", you knew you were in the presence of someone special. Carnegia lived life to the fullest and was blessed to have some of the people that loved and cared about her most be able to visit following her short illness. Her passing was a testament to her life, in that she had an inner spark and a way of making her family, friends and even strangers feel special, accepted and loved. In the last days of her life, her love manifested itself between family and friends bringing us all closer as we celebrated her life and what she has meant to each one of us.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Sandra Gebhardt, and her partner, Jennifer Tyson; her adoring son, Arthur, and his wife Nancy; four devoted grandchildren, Jeff Gebhardt, and his wife, Lauren, Jessica Scott, and her husband, Terry, Keeley Haysman and Scott Haysman; five great-grandchildren and a plethora of nieces and nephews.
