COBBTOWN, GEORGIA - Carl Manning Sapp, 72, of Cobbtown, Georgia, husband of Mildred Unglesbee Sapp, died Sunday evening, October 25, 2009, at Candler Hospital.
Born in Cobbtown, Georgia, he was a son of the late Bailey Sapp and the late Lillian Phillips Sapp. Mr. Sapp was of the Baptist faith and he retired from Forest City Gun Club in Savannah. He loved fishing, skeet shooting, hunting, and more particularly deer hunting. Mr. Sapp was also an avid gardener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lora Meeks.
Surviving are his wife of fifty two years, Mildred Unglesbee Sapp of Cobbtown, Georgia; two sons, Raymond "Ray" M. Sapp and his wife, Doris, of Savannah, Georgia, and Robert "Bobby" L. Sapp of Richmond Hill, Georgia; one brother, Harry Sapp and his wife, Willamae, of Cobbtown, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Wednesday at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Samuel W. Watkins. Interment will be in Hillcrest Abbey - East.
