Carl Aloysius Hartloge, Jr., 83, of Savannah, Georgia, passed peacefully on Saturday morning, March 12, 2022, at St. Joseph's Hospital.



Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Carl Aloysius Hartloge, Sr. and the late Audry Demetress Weeks Hartloge. Carl attended Commercial High School in Savannah. He served for four years in the United States Coast Guard and then the United States Coast Guard Reserves. Carl worked for J.C. Lewis for many years. He loved the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing and baseball, particularly the Atlanta Braves. A music aficionado, Carl had an incredible range of knowledge of music artists. He had a great sense of humor, much to the enjoyment of his friends and family. But most of all, he loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with his family.



In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Clinton Hartloge.



Survivors include his children, Carl Aloysius Hartloge III and his wife, Sue, Demetress 'Dee' Rosaria Phillips and Theresa Maria Fabre and her husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Brandon Taylor Hartloge (Brittney), Zachary Goodwin Smith, Bradley Vincent Hartloge (Claire), Porter Mitchell Fabre; great-grandchild, Kobe Goodwin Smith; a sister, Maree Hartloge O'Neal (Sam); a niece, Lisa Bean (Sam).



The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock, Thursday evening, March 17, 2022, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.



The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning, March 18, 2022, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Father Joseph A. Smith. Interment, with military honors, will be in Beaufort National Cemetery.
