Carl Edward Baker, 77, of Savannah, Georgia made his peaceful departure to Heaven on Sunday, August 4, 2024. He was born in Savannah, Georgia, a member of the First Christian Fellowship Church and attended Kicklighter School.
He retired from Piccadilly Restaurant after 40 years of service. Carl was a happy guy, always smiling. He loved going to River Street with his friend Edward.
Carl is preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Norwood Jackson Baker, Sr., his mother, Anna Esther Granat Baker, a brother Jerry W. Baker, and an uncle, Laverne Granat.
He is survived by two brothers, Norwood J. Baker, Jr and wife, Charlotte, of Blairsville, Georgia, David R. Baker and wife, Martha, of Savannah, Geogia; a sister, Linda B. Christopher and husband, Jack, of Lebanon, Tennessee; nieces, Amy Hubbard and husband, Brian of Savannah, Georgia, Kim Baker of Jacksonville, Florida and many other nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, his best friend, Edward Page and many other friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 o’clock until 11 o’clock Tuesday morning at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, Georgia. A graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah, Georgia.
