Burney Holton, 79, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Iva Underwood Holton, died Sunday evening, November 20, 2016, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Baxley, Georgia, he was a son of the late Ellis Holton and the late Willie Louise Whitten Holton Minor. Mr. Holton was a member of Trinity Church of God in Garden City. He was the founder of Holton Plumbing Company and a master plumber. Mr. Holton enjoyed fishing and was great at fixing things around the house.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Melba Jean Wiggly and by a brother, Charles Edward Holton.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Iva Underwood Holton; three children, Karen Holton Davis and her husband, Bruce, Michael Ellis Holton and his wife, Amy, and Theo Keith Holton; three grandchildren, Jessica Wallace, Michael Ellis Holton, Jr., and Lance Holton Davis, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Tuesday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Joshua Peavy and Pastor Larry McDaniel. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
