Bruce David Elias, 67, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Lorr Becker Elias, died Wednesday evening, August 23, 2017, at Oceanside Health and Rehabilitation on Tybee Island.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Schaff Joseph Elias and the late Ethel Jarjoura Elias. Bruce was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He earned his Master's in Resource Economics from the University of Rhode Island. Bruce was a grants administrator for the Georgia Department of Human Services Division of Family and Children and a part-time professor at Brewton-Parker College. He was a humanitarian and an environmentalist. Bruce was also a food connoisseur who enjoyed exercising, basketball and tennis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James 'Jim' Elias.
Surviving are his wife of almost 28 years, Lorr Becker Elias of Savannah, Georgia; three daughters, Rhiannon Brusco of Decatur, Georgia, Alia Elias of West Newbury Massachusetts, and Shaley Elias of Savannah, Georgia; four grandchildren, Noah Elias, Mirabel Elias, Henry Elias and Lucia Byrd; one sister, Cheryl Misiaszek and her husband, Stan, of Southbridge, Massachusetts; three brothers, Robert 'Bob' Elias and his wife, Carolyn, of Pickens, South Carolina, Kenneth 'Ken' Elias and his wife, Terri, of Thompson, Connecticut, and Michael 'Mike' Elias and his wife, Sandi, of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
