Blanche Prouse Meyers, 88, of Savannah, Georgia, and widow of Robert Clayton Meyers, Sr., died Thursday evening, December 30, 2021, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Douglas James Prouse, Sr. and the late Annie King Prouse. When she was younger she participated in the Kings Daughter's, a charitable organization. Blanche married Robert on January 15, 1955, at Asbury Memorial Methodist Church. They had been married 64 years when he passed in 2019.?? Blanche enjoyed life, she loved shopping, the beach, gardening, taking care of her flowers and time spent with her children and grandchildren. She collected lighthouses and loved watching birds. She especially loved the hummingbirds that came to the feeders on her deck.
Survivors include her children, Robert Clayton Meyers, Jr., Jacquelyn Meyers Hendrix (Gerald), Paula Meyers Compton (John); grandchildren, Stanley Beasley (Erica), Gerald Kyle Hendrix, Tayloe Compton (KerrieAnn), Robert Clayton Compton and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o'clock Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The memorial service will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday, January 8, 2022, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service.
