Bertha Plotkin Freedman, 86, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Martin Freedman, died Friday morning, August 21, 2015, at Hospice Savannah.
Bertha was a member of Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Bertha served as secretary of the Boy Scouts in Savannah and as President of the Hebrew School PTA. She retired from civil service in the Facility Engineering Department at Hunter Army Airfield. Bertha was active in Hadassah and the BB Jacob Sisterhood.
Surviving are her two sons, Gerald Freedman (Lynda) and Louis Freedman (Elissa); her daughter, Jan Katz (Frank); her sister, Miriam Stein; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Sunday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
The family would like to express a special kindness to Barbara Davis for her loving care.
