Bernadette Jackson Riles, 72, of Savannah, Georgia, died Thursday evening, November 5, 2020, at Azalealand Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Born in New York City, New York, she was raised by her grandmother, the late Nellie Jackson. Bernadette was of the Baptist faith. She was a graduate of Beach High School. Bernadette owned and operated Riles Restaurant for many years. She directed many special events by catering and decorating. Bernadette loved spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Johnny Riles, she was preceded in death by her parents, her grandmother, and her son.
Survivors include two daughters, Nicole Robinson Walker and her husband, A. J., and Angela Yvette Hicks; a son, Jimmy Baker (Wendy); six grandchildren, Crystal Baker, Christopher Smith (Candace), Marcus Hicks (Tia), Morgan Montgomery, Avery Robinson and Waverly Baker; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Teresa Emerson (Steven); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, November 12, 2020, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue conducted by the Reverend Dr. Andrew Young, with the family receiving friends afterwards until 4 o'clock.
