Benjiman 'Ben' Graeme Smith, 27, of Savannah, Georgia, died Saturday, January 17, 2015, at his home.
Born on May 16, 1987, in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of Gary Phillip Smith and Tammy Marcum Smith. Benjiman graduated from Jenkins High School and attended Armstrong State University.
Surviving are his parents, Gary and Tammy Smith; his brother, Jonathan Smith of Savannah; his uncle, Oliver Smith of Atlanta; his uncle and aunt, Alan and Judy Smith of Messina; his uncle and aunt, Donnie and Eileen Marcum of Newcastle, Indiana; and cousins, Thomas and Ellen Smith of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Andrew Smith of Atlanta, and Angela Marcum Riley, Bradley Marcum, Chad Marcum, Diane Heim and James Marcum, all of Indiana.
A memorial service celebrating Ben's life will be held at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon, January 24, 2014, at The Unitarian Universalist Church of Savannah conducted by The Reverend David H. Messner. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park. Both services are open to all who wish to share in remembering the extraordinary life of this young man.
