SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Beatrice Youmans Kleinpeter, 95, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Patrick Waddell Kleinpeter, died Monday evening, June 20, 2011, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Rhine, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late George Lawton Youmans and the late Maree Beatrice Beecher Youmans. Mrs. Kleinpeter was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Savannah. She graduated from Georgia State Woman's College (now Valdosta State University) in Valdosta. Mrs. Kleinpeter was a homemaker until her sons moved away from home and she then worked with the Baptist Book Store for more than 19 years. She thoroughly enjoyed her family, was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, and particularly enjoyed watching the ballgames of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, C. Patrick "Pat" Kleinpeter and William "Bill" L. Kleinpeter and his wife, Kathy, all of Savannah, Georgia; five grandchildren, Kami Johnson and her husband, Bill, Jane Yaklin and her husband, Kenny, Barry Kleinpeter and his wife, Jennifer, Michael Kleinpeter and his wife, Ruth, and Susie Grames and her husband, Robby; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Marylin Youmans of Savannah, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Eunice S. Youmans of Savannah, Georgia; her longtime friend, Jean Hall of Jacksonville, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Wednesday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Robert W. Grames III. Interment will be in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park - East.
