Beatrice Heyman Goodman, 94, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Abe Goodman, died Tuesday morning, March 4, 2014, at Buckingham South and under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Morris Heyman and the late Sarah Scheinerman Heyman. Mrs. Goodman was a member of Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob. She was a very active member of Hadassah and served several terms on the board of the JEA. Mrs. Goodman was a retired bookkeeper having worked for Marlin's and later for her family's business, Heyman and Sons. She loved knitting, playing bridge and Mahjong. Mrs. Goodman especially enjoyed crocheting afghans and giving them under 'her label' as presents.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Rotkow.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Lloyd S. Goodman and his wife, Sandra, of Savannah, Georgia, and Michael E. Goodman and his wife, Audrey, of Glenrock, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Marc Goodman and his wife, Karen, Jill Goodman Goldstein and her husband, Ken, Brett Goodman and Amanda Goodman; four great-grandchildren, Ashley Goodman, Parker Goodman, Carly Goldstein and Ben Goldstein; one sister Lillian Lowe and her husband, Walter, of Savannah, Georgia, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
