Battalion Chief Garron Edward Lawrence Cole, Southside Fire/EMS & Security (Ret.), 69, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and husband of Amy Kerr Cole, passed away Sunday morning, May 26, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.
Born at the United States Air Force Ruislip Air Station in Middlesex England, he was the eldest son of the late Edward Walter Cole, Sr and the late Phyllis Mary Fulford Cole. Garron was a graduate of Windsor Forest High School, Class of ’72. After his retirement, he enjoyed reconnecting with his classmates on the 1st Thursday of every month. Garron attended Armstrong State University. He was a longtime member of St. George’s Episcopal Church, Savannah. Garron devoted his life to serving others and retired as a Battalion Chief after 45 years in fire service. He will be remembered most for his love of family, helping others, and fishing for trout.
Surviving is his wife of 21 years, Amy Kerr Cole; one daughter, Lawren Galloway Ewing and her husband, Justin; four grandchildren, Olivia, Fallon, Hollie, and Violet; one brother, Edward Cole, Jr. and his wife, Sandy; two sisters, Rhonda Franco and Stella Waters and her husband, Kenneth; a number of nieces and nephews, and his three puppies, Oliver, Molly, and Champ.
The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, May 30, 2024, at Gamble Funeral Service – 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, May 30, 2024, at the graveside, Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Father Dwayne A. Varas.
