SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Barbara Haskins Rubin, 68, of Savannah, Georgia, wife of Abram M. Rubin, died Sunday morning, October 4, 2009, at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Born in Macon, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Harry Haskins and the late Gertrude Turner Haskins. Mrs. Rubin was a member of Congregation Agudath Achim and retired from the Chatham County Tag Office.
Surviving are her husband of almost 50 years, Abram Morris Rubin of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter, Robyn Aston and her husband, Bruce, of Marietta, Georgia; two sons, Steven A. Rubin and Craig B. Rubin and his wife, Julie, all of Roswell, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Adam Aston, Genna Aston, Heath Aston, Kaylah Rubin, Harris Rubin, Jessica Rubin, Isabella Rubin and Evan Rubin; one sister, Nina Hershon and her husband, Lee, of Charleston, South Carolina; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elise and Victor Shernoff of Savannah, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Tuesday at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Kenneth R. Leitner.
