Barbara Kelley Compton, 80, died January 28, 2013 at her home after a short illness.
Barbara was a life-long resident of Savannah and member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She was married to the late Charles Bell Compton for 40 years.
Surviving are her four children, Charles Bell Compton, Jr. and his wife, Alva Blount Compton, Albert Kelley Compton, John Tayloe Compton and his wife, Paula Meyers Compton, and Margaret Katherine Compton; seven grandchildren, Charles Bell Compton III, Tucker Hill Compton, Spencer Kelley Compton, John Tayloe Compton, Jr., Robert Clayton Compton, Katherine Kelley Allred, and William Frederick Allred.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 o'clock Wednesday morning in St. John's Episcopal Church conducted by The Reverend Gavin G. Dunbar and The Reverend Craig E. O'Brien with a reception to follow at the Green-Meldrim House. Inurnment will be private.
