d. September 11, 2010

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Bailee Tenenbaum Kronowitz, a native of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on Friday, September 10.
A graduate of Savannah High School, Bailee was well known for her extraordinary cooking skills and for her talent as an artist.  She was a celebrated cooking teacher, sharing her love of fine food and entertaining with her students.  Bailee and her husband Ronald would invite her students to join them for dinner following each class to sample the dishes they had created.  Her classes and her recipes were featured in publications across the country.
She contributed many sculptures to the Agudath Achim Synagogue, including the striking free form menorah that graces the entrance wall of the building and the Burning Bush eternal light in the Tenenbaum Main Sanctuary, named for her family, multi-generational members and recognized among the founders of the synagogue.
A lifelong advocate of the arts and of Savannah, Bailee was a founding member of the board of the Savannah on Stage, the precursor to the Savannah Music Festival.  Her interest in the musical arts and in increasing Savannah's profile in the national art community was one of the inspirations for the festival.  She was a collector of the art of Henry Moore and had the opportunity to meet him twice and tour his studio in Hertfordshire, England.
Bailee was the loving daughter of Albert and Rosaline Levy Tenenbaum.  She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Ronald,  and her children Lowell and Rachel, and their spouses Hilary and Mark, her brother Arnold Tenenbaum and his wife  Lorlee, and the lights of her life, her five grandchildren, Daniel, Jack, Peter, Tessa and Amanda.
Bailee was fortunate to have many lifelong friends and many special people in her life, including Alice Baker and Willie Mae Jackson.  Her loving caregivers included Verona Chisholm, Phyllis Smith, Carmen Guitterez, and Vynyll Ramirez.
The funeral services will be held graveside at Bonaventure Cemetery at 10 o'clock on Sunday morning, September 12.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be sent to the Bailee Tenenbaum Kronowitz Memorial Kiddush Fund at the Agudath Achim Synagogue - 9 Lee Boulevard, Savannah, Georgia 31405.
