SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Ashley Amber Lanier, 32, of Savannah, Georgia, beloved daughter of Allen and Peggy Lanier, died Wednesday morning, June 10, 2009, at her family home following a brief illness.
Born February 24, 1977, in Savannah, Georgia, she was a graduate of Hershel V. Jenkins High School in Savannah, Georgia. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and her life, a tribute to the enduring power of the human spirit.
Ashley was the grand-daughter of the late A.A. Lanier, Jr. and Margaret Weeks Lanier and the late John Daniel Brogdon and Gladys Hair Brogdon.
Surviving are her parents, Allen and Peggy Lanier of Savannah; her sister, Olivia R. Lanier of Savannah; her brother, Gabriel A. H. Lanier of Savannah; her maternal aunt, Linda B. Hammond of Savannah, Georgia, and other relatives.
The family is not receiving visitors at the home but will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service with the eulogy being delivered by Tom Kohler and Jill J. Dixon. Private interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
