Arthur L. Cooper

d. December 7, 2016

Arthur L. Cooper, 65, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away Wednesday morning, December 7, 2016, at his home after a short illness.

Born in Savannah, Georgia on July 24, 1951, son of the late Sol and Rachel Radetsky Cooper; beloved husband of Sheila Cooper, cherished brother of Allan, Edwin (Aviva) of Savannah, Neal (Sydne) of Atlanta, Cindy Bauman (Joel), and sister in law Laura Cooper of Silver Spring, and cherished uncle and great uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Dr. Louis Cooper and Frank Cooper.

Arthur was a 1969 graduate of Savannah High School and later graduated from The John Marshall Law School with honors in 1979. Arthur was trial lawyer and partner at Lasky Cooper Law. He had a special relationship with all of his clients and prided himself for being ethical and honest in everything he did for his clients and in the way he lived life. If you ever had the privilege to meet Arthur, you would know that he had one of the firmest handshakes around.

The true character of a family is made up of an amazing mesh of personalities, abilities, and unique traits. The Cooper family is no different. Today we lost our Protector, Arthur Cooper. Arthur was a beloved husband, brother, and uncle to the Cooper family. A warrior in the courtroom, warrior in the dojo, and champion for the rights and protection of everyone he knew, and loved, as well as a vast array of clients and associates over a prestigious law career. The safety and security his presence gave those around him will be greatly missed.

Arthur was unwavering in his intentions and convictions. Growing up, he had 5 brothers and one sister, and always inspired them to 'Walk Like You Mean It'. This carried through his family and career as an attorney. Both professionally and personally, his unparalleled honesty, integrity, and honor, earned him the respect of every person's life he touched.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
