Arnold Harris Karp, 68, of Rincon, Georgia and husband of Mary 'Chrissie' Reinert Kaplan Karp, died Tuesday afternoon, May 2, 2017, at his home.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Melvin Karp and the late Ada Annette Harris Karp. Arnold was a dedicated member and multi-term president of Congregation Agudath Achim, and worked tirelessly on behalf of the Savannah Jewish Federation. His family owned and operated Karp Motors, Inc. for many years where he was a vice president. Arnold was a member and Past Master of Zerubbabel Lodge #15 F & AM and a member of the Scottish Rite and the Alee Temple. He was a former member of the Jewish Educational Alliance, the Savannah Automobile Dealers Association and the Georgia Automobile Dealers Association. Arnold was a huge University of Georgia Bulldogs fan who never met a stranger. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a beloved brother, Eric Nathan Karp.
Surviving are his wife, Chrissie; two sons, Evan and Miles; one sister, Sheryl Kreh and her husband, Dr. Gustave 'Stavie' Kreh; one brother, Sidney Karp, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Motti Locker.
