SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Anthony "Tony" Agonofski, 64, of Savannah, Georgia, husband of Leah Jean Herron Agonofski, died Saturday morning, May 5, 2012, at Candler Hospital.
Born in Tuscan, Arizona, he was a son of the late Frank Agonofski and the late Rita Broderick Agonofski. Tony was a United States Army veteran and was retired as Master 3 Firefighter with the Savannah Fire Department after 26 years of service. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and an avid fisherman.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Leah Jean Herron Agonofski of Savannah, Georgia; three daughters, Antasha Agonofski Horton and her husband, Dewyane, of Richmond Hill, Georgia; Nicole Schaaf and her husband, Walt, of Savannah, Georgia; April Peery Justice and her husband, Damian in Saudi Arabia; three grandchildren, Reed and Nicholas Schaaf and Kenlie Agonofski; two brothers, Tommy Owen and his wife, Teri, of Reidsville, Georgia, Joseph Agonofski of Savannah, Georgia; one sister, Ann Frances Agonofski Stumpf of Savannah, Georgia and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service, with full military honors, will be held at 12 o'clock Thursday in the Chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Jeremiah J. McCarthy. Interment will be private.
