Annie Lucille Murphy, 86, of Savannah, Georgia, died Tuesday morning, April 21, 2020, at her home.
Born in Pritchardville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Theodopolis Gant Murphy and the late Mary Lucille Brunson Murphy. Annie was of the Baptist faith. She retired as an intake investigator after 35 years of service with the Chatham County Division of Family & Children Services. Annie's greatest love was her family. She also enjoyed cooking, flowers, and watching butterflies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Theodopolis Gant Murphy, Jr., Lucius Adolph Murphy, and William Edward Murphy.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra 'Sandy' Hord and her husband, Raymond N. 'Ray' Hord; one granddaughter, Morgan Anne Matte and her husband, Jacob, and one great-granddaughter, Molly Matte.
With concern for the safety and health of our family and friends, a memorial service will be held in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service at a later date.
A private graveside service will be held in Ridgeland Cemetery in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
