In the words of her primary physician Dr. Paul Bradley, Anne Mally Scheer was a firecracker. She was born in New York City on February 15, 1921 and passed away surrounded by her loving children on July 4, 2016. Anne \"with an E\" moved to Savannah in 1948 to marry the love of her life Isadore \"Junior\" Scheer. They enjoyed 52 beautiful years together.
Anne was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Great Aunt, Cousin and friend to all. Her motto was \"if the front door is locked, the back door is always open.\" At 72, she retired from Army Community Services at Hunter Army Airfield and in her later life found a zest and joy of living that truly inspired all in her sphere. Anne was a member of Congregation Agudath Achim. She volunteered and was a light in her community. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her four children Steven (Anne), Myra, Jerry, and Henry (Donna); seven grandchildren Mollie (Bob) White, Emily (John) Hawkins, Mallary Scheer, Max Scheer, Anna Scheer, Aaron Scheer, and Dylan Scheer; and four great-grandchildren William Hawkins, Robert White IV, John \"Junior\" Hawkins Jr., and Abigail White.
The family would like to thank all of her doctors and healthcare community, especially Dr. Tony Sussman and his wife Melanie, her guardian angel neighbor Mr. Walter Hixon, Jackie \"of all trades\" Chisholm, and her \"fourth son\" Harry Center.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Bonaventure Cemetery conducted by Rabbi Yossi Refson. Pallbearers will be Harry Center, Arthur Cohen, Tai Cohen, Mark Cumins, Al Hirsch, Arthur Mally, Ira Miller and Tony Sussman. Honorary pallbearer is Donald Shapiro.
The family will sit Shiva at the home, 218 Kensington Drive.
