d. March 30, 2020

Anne Kleinsteuber Leon, 93, died March 29, 2020 of natural causes at her residence.

She was born in Savannah, daughter of the late Max E. and Emma Heiss Kleinsteuber. She was a graduate of Savannah High School. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church until 1960 when she became a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church on Wilmington Island where she was the organist and choir director for many years. In addition to music and playing the piano at home, she enjoyed reading, gardening, arts and craft projects including origami and calligraphy. Playing Scrabble she was unbeatable, as well as solving crossword and Sudoku puzzles. Her father was a stone cutter and owned Cut Art Stone Company and placed the stone on the public library on Bull Street and many other Savannah structures.

She was the last surviving sibling of the Kleinsteuber children: Betty, Max, Teresa, Carl, Herman and Elsie.

Surviving are her children, Howard A. Leon and his wife Catalina of Atlanta; David A. Leon of Rockland, ME; grandchildren, Michael and Ana Leon; numerous nieces and nephews.

With concern for the safety and health of our family and friends, the memorial service for Anne will be held at a later date.
