Anne Williamson Hohenstein of Atlanta, GA passed away peacefully Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta after a short illness.



Mrs. Hohenstein was born January 8, 1932 in Asheville, NC to David Dewey Williamson, Sr. and Sara Jenkins Williamson. She was a graduate of St. Genevieve of the Pines School. After attending Women\'s College of Greensboro, Greensboro, NC., Mrs. Hohenstein moved to Atlanta and enjoyed a career in public relations at Rich\'s (now Macy\'s) department store. Store management was so impressed with her, they offered her a supplemental position as a store model at the downtown location on Peachtree Street but she declined the offer. In her later years, Mrs. Hohenstein was an accomplished realtor with Northside Realty.



Mrs. Hohenstein married her husband, C. Louis Hohenstein, Jr. in 1961. The Hohensteins raised their beloved two children in the Ansley Park neighborhood of Atlanta where Mrs. Hohenstein enjoyed gardening, entertaining, attending Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Atlanta Opera performances, and volunteering.



She was an active member of the Ansley Park Garden Club, Ansley Park Civic Association, Ansley Golf Club, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, High Museum of Art and Colonial Dames of America. Notably, Mrs. Hohenstein was the fourth great-granddaughter of Colonel Frederick Hambright (1727-1817) who fought in the Battle of Kings Mountain in North Carolina during the American Revolutionary War.



Mrs. Hohenstein was a longtime member of The Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta and an active member of the church\'s St. Elizabeth\'s Guild.



She will be sorely missed by her family and friends as all who knew her were touched by her gentleness, generosity, and kind spirits. Her family is deeply grateful to have been blessed with her life as their beloved wife, sister, mother, aunt and friend.



In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hohenstein is survived by her brother, D. D. \"Bud\" Williamson, Jr. of Asheville; her daughter, Lynn M. Hohenstein of Atlanta; her son, C. Louis Hohenstein, III of Oakland, CA; her nephew and his wife; her great aunt; her grand-niece and grand-nephew and cousins.



The graveside service will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at the graveside, Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah.??with The Reverend Gavin G. Dunbar of St. John\'s Episcopal Church, Savannah officiating.
