Ann Stiles Falconer, 102, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of The Reverend John Breland Falconer, died Tuesday evening, June 23, 2015, at Spanish Oaks Retreat.
Born in Savannah, Georgia she was a daughter of the late John Reginald Stiles, Sr. and the late Lucille Lucas Stiles. Mrs. Falconer was a member of Second African Baptist Church. She earned her Master of Social Work Administration from the Tuller School at St. Augustine College. Mrs. Falconer and her husband served as missionary's in West Africa for more than 25 years. She later worked as a Medical Social Worker at Westside-Urban Health Center, and director of The Early Bird Daycare Center. Mrs. Falconer was very active in her church and community groups and was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeri Dale Falconer Harrison; one sister, Lucille Stiles Pierce, and two brothers, John 'Jack' R. Stiles, Jr. and Samuel Lucas Stiles.
Surviving are one daughter, Beverly A. Watkins of Savannah, Georgia; three grandchildren, Malik R. Watkins, Wallace Harrison, and Brandi Harrison Williams and her husband, Delvin; four great-grandchildren, Rodney Glover Watkins, Malik Salim Watkins, Asia Watkins, and A'ishah Watkins; one great-great-grandson, Kaiden Eli Watkins; one sister, Geraldine Stiles Murph of Los Angeles, California, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 12 o'clock Monday morning at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Monday in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Joseph Hoze, Pastor of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
