Alonzo "Mac" Hargrett

Our dearest brother Mac Hargrett (Alonzo McKee Hargrett III) passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father March 26, 2022. Mac succumbed to pneumonia as a complication of Covid. Mac was 59 years old.



Mac was the son of Dr. McKee Hargrett of Wayne County and Rene\' Reece of Baltimore, MD.



Mac lived in Jesup, GA most of his childhood and later in life was a frequent visitor to his home town and to Savannah. He is remembered and beloved by many in the communities of Jesup and Screven, GA.



Known for his sense of humor and courage in the face of physical and intellectual challenges he triumphed in spirit. Mac taught us all about perseverance and strength. Mac was a Godly man who loved Jesus.



Mac lived independently in Baltimore (under the guidance of the ARC Baltimore) where his sisters and niece were frequent visitors.



He was a fun loving man who enjoyed music, especially Elvis, shopping, collecting stuffed animals and travel.



One of his favorite places was Tybee Island, GA where he spent many vacations with his Georgia family.



He is survived by his loving sisters McKee and Lucy. A close niece Kate, Jessie, Chrisy and dear, family friend Ephrem.



Visitation at 1:00, Funeral on April 9 at 2:00 in the Gamble Funeral Services Chapel - 410 Stephenson Ave. Savannah, GA, (Covid precautions, masks, distancing, please). Internment at Christ Church, St. Simons Is., GA. where he will rest next to his father.
