SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Allen Marshall Slatky, 64, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Carlita Kaye Hyde Slatky, died Sunday evening, June 10, 2012, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in the Bronx, New York, he was a son of Ruth Lillian Gabelman Slatky and the late Albert Slatky. Allen was of the Jewish faith and was a United States Navy veteran. He was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY.  He retired as a corporate executive chef and later worked as a seafood specialist for Publix, Inc.
Surviving are his wife, Carlita Kaye Hyde Slatky of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, Joshua Slatky and his wife, Autumn, of Rome, Georgia and David Piere; Joshua and Autumn's children, Jackson and Caden; his daughter by marriage, Chelsea Hughes and her husband, Robert, of Bartlett, Tennessee; Chelsea and Robert's children, Owen and Caleb; his mother, Ruth Lillian Gabelman Slatky of Fort Myers, Florida; two sisters, Reena Mancuso of Tuxedo, New York, and Penny Johnson of Fort Myers, Florida; one brother-in-law, Gregory Johnson of Saba, Netherlands Antilles; one brother, Larry Slatky and his wife, Anita, of Cold Spring Harbor, New York, as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service, with full military honors, will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at the columbarium, Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by The Reverend Nelle McCorkle Bordeaux.
