Allan Lawrence Cooper, 71, of Savannah, Georgia passed away suddenly on Wednesday morning, September 23, 2020. He was born in Savannah on August 26, 1949 to Sol and Rachel (Radetsky) Cooper.
Allan was a loving and devoted husband to Barbara Weinstein Cooper who predeceased him, father to Nicole Cooper and Erik (Aviva Klein) Cooper, and grandfather to Noah, Ari and Jacob Cooper.?? He was a dedicated brother to previously deceased siblings Louis, Arthur, and Frank.?? ??He will be deeply missed by siblings Edwin (Aviva) Cooper, Neal (Sydne) Cooper, and Cindy (Joel) Bauman, sisters-in-law Laura Cooper, Sheila Cooper and Tara Sadler and his beloved dog Charlie.
Allan was the favorite, easy-going family member. He was an avid sports fan who shared his passion for the Atlanta Braves and the UGA football team with his son, grandsons and friends.??A devoted and loyal man, he was a true southern gentleman. Allan always made sure to show, through his thoughtful actions, his immense love for those around him. To Allan, no one was left unnoticed or uncared for. His door was always open, and his table was never too small. For Allan, helping others was never a burden, but a natural way of being. He took so much pride in his family ' his children, grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends - and will be missed by them all.
Allan was a graduate of Savannah High School and Georgia State University. He was a longtime associate of Coldwell Banker now Golden Properties, where he was a Life Member of the Million Dollar Club. He was also a dedicated and active lifelong member of Congregation B'nai Brith Jacob Synagogue of Savannah.
His funeral service was held graveside at 12 noon Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Bonaventure Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
Remembrances can be made to B'nai Brith Jacob Synagogue.
