Alida Green Smith, 81, of Savannah, Georgia, died Tuesday morning, May 1, 2018, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia on November 3, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Frank Slaton Green and the late Margaret Murphy Green. Alida worked for the Catholic Diocese of Savannah for 10 years and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. James Catholic Church and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She formerly worked as a court reporter and was an administrative assistant for Judge George E. Oliver.
Surviving are her children, Kelly Smith Newberry (Wayne), Kathleen Smith Cutino (Jim Hall), Mark Eric Smith, and Evan Vincent Smith; grandchildren, Vincent Cutino (Tiffany), Anthony Cutino, Nicholas Cutino, and Taylor Thompson (Mathew); great-grandchildren, Sydney Cutino and Sawyer Thompson; siblings, Marie Green Bryant (Burch) and Rick Green; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gaetano J. Cutino.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon, May 6, 2018, followed by a Rosary Service at 5 o'clock in the chapel at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 o'clock Monday morning, May 7, 2018, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church conducted by Bishop J. Kevin Boland, reception following. Interment will be private.
