Alice Morris Griffin Johnston, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of James Edward Johnston, Sr., died Wednesday afternoon, November 4, 2015 at her home.
Born in Belleville, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Marian Garrabrandt Griffin and the late William Henry Griffin. Alice was married to James Edward Johnston Sr. for 53 years until his death. Our mom was full of life, and could tell endless stories about our lives overseas. We lived in India, Italy, and Malaysia and then she and Dad went on to Thailand and Liberia, West Africa. She was an amazing lady and lived a full life for 91 years.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary, and two brothers, William and Peter.
Surviving are her son, James Edward Johnston and his wife, Mary, and they have a son, Ryan; her daughter, Cathy Elizabeth Johnston Reed and her husband, Harry D. Reed, and they have two sons, Christopher, who is married to Deanna, and they have three sons, Jack, Hudson and Wade; and Neil and his wife, Lesley, and they have one son, Griffin.
We will all miss her dearly.
The family will celebrate her life at a later time.
