Alan Michael Simon, 75, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Lynn Simon, died Wednesday morning, November 17, 2021, at Buckingham South.
Born in the Bronx, New York, he spent the majority of his life in the South.?? He and his wife raised their family in Atlanta, Georgia and then retired to Savannah, Georgia.?? He was a veteran having served as a Lieutenant?? in the United States Navy. Alan earned his Bachelor's degrees from Cornell University and from New Jersey Institute of Technology.?? Alan was a retired civil engineer, former docent at the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum, and an active member in the Jewish community.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lynn; his children Dr. Daniel Simon, his wife Dr. Rozalyn Simon and Sabrina Simon; his granddaughters, Adeline and Isabel Simon.
Graveside service will be held at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, November 18, 2021, Bonaventure Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Steven B. Henkin of Congregation Agudath Achim.
Family will be sitting Shiva at the home of Lynn Simon.
