Aileen Dingess Butcher, 87, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Jack Ross Butcher, died Thursday evening, April 14, 2016, at her home.
Born in Logan, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late William Dingess and the late Elsie Gore Dingess. Mrs. Butcher was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and later retired as a floor supervisor for Allied Department Stores.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jacklyn Butcher, and eight sisters, Garnett, Ruby, Nausie, Dorothy, Mae, Emily, Wilma and Opal.
Surviving are one daughter, Leah Mitchell of Savannah, Georgia; one son, Adam B. Butcher of Savannah, Georgia; three grandchildren, Shanna Bykov and her husband, Artur, Shellie Ward and Wayne Ashley Mitchell II; four great-grandchildren, Hailie Ward, Emilie Ward, Nikolai Bykov and Milana Bykov, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Monday morning at the graveside, Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by The Reverend Thomas W. East, Jr.
