Phillip 'Philly' John Meyers, 69, of Savannah, Georgia, died Friday morning, January 5, 2018, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Queens, New York, he was a son of the late William Samuel Meyers and the late Edith Rebecca Gruff Meyers. Phillip was a United States Marine Corp veteran. He retired as a pressman for New York Post. Phillip believed in always doing the right things and in making things right. He was a political guru and his death is a tremendous loss to his family, friends, the community and the Democratic Party. Phillip's greatest love was his children and his grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Nicole J. Meyers and Ruth Ann Hammerle; four sons, Alex Meyers, William 'Billy' Meyers, Sam Meyers and Scott Meyers; fifteen grandchildren, Jorrdan, Julianna, Joshua, Victoria, William, Samantha, Lexi, Sabrina, Maddy, Lucas, Mia, Gracie, Kendall, Dallas and Madison; one sister, Edie Daughtry, and two brothers, Joe Meyers and Andy Meyers.
The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Patrick S. O'Brien. Interment will be private.
